Number Collection
Please collect your T-shirt, Participant Number and Goodie bag at The Globe at Suncoast from Thursday 23 May: 10:00 – 19:00 (10am – 7pm), Friday 24 May: 10:00 – 19:00 (10am – 7pm) and Saturday 25 May: 10:00 – 14:00 (10am – 2pm).
Refreshments
Refreshment stations will be on the route for all distances. Look at the route maps to see where each refreshment stand will be. No personal seconding will be allowed.
Park & Ride
Parking Facilities are available. Busses will rotate between People’s Park and uShaka Marine World from 05:30 until 12:30. You can catch a bus from the finish area to the start area, no additional charge.
Restrictions
Children under the age of 5 can walk for free but will not receive a
goodie bag, T-shirt, or number.
When entering a minor without an ID Number, kindly enter them as a Non-RSA Citizen.
The Big Walk is wheelchair and pram-friendly. Dogs however, are strictly not allowed.
Group Payments / Corporate Entries (Minimum of 20 Entries)
When making one group payment, a coupon code will be issued. Group entrants must enter online individually and then ensure their individual unique reference number reflect on the EFT proof of payment confirmation. Corporate entries will be pre-packed for collection.
Refunds
There will be no refund in the event of an entrant not participating. We are however able to re-direct the payment to another entry.
Closing Dates for Entries
Ticket sales for Corporate and Individual entries will close on 1 May 2024 or once capacity for the respective distances has been reached.
Distance Changes
Distance changes can be done at Number Collection at a cost of R30 per entry.
Discovery Vitality Points
Discovery is no longer a sponsor of the Big Walk. Kindly contact Discovery directly for any Vitality Points queries.
T-shirts
There are two colour options of yellow and blue T-shirts. Sizes cannot be changed once you have entered.

Battery Beach Road / Snell Parade [at the traffic circle] – Controlled access to the parking at the Mustering Fields.
Park & Ride
We aim to get all walkers to the start with the least delay, so please arrive on time to avoid delay and disappointment.
Also pay special attention to the time schedule below as well as the first and last bus times as applicable to each start. The event organisers will not be held responsible for those who do not plan accordingly.
Note: Special consideration will be given to walkers who are entered for earlier starts
Handy tip: To avoid delays, bring exact cash on-hand for parking on the day.
Option 1: Park at Suncoast (Parking area P2 only)
There is free parking available at Suncoast. Please note that parking is limited and is on a first come, first served basis and subject to availability.
Option 2: Park at the finish (Parking areas P1 and P2)
Park at the designated parking areas at Moses Mabhida Stadium, then catch a bus to uShaka Marine World, and start your walk to the finish area. Please note the return bus service has a time limit.
Parking tickets will be available for purchase only on the morning of the event, at the designated parking locations
Tickets for parking areas P1 and P2 cost R30
Option 3: Park at the start (Parking areas P3 and P4)
Park at the start (uShaka Marine World) and start your walk to the finish area, and then catch a bus back to uShaka Marine World after you finish your walk.
